The historic center
The heart of Santiago has its center in the well-known Plaza de Armas. From here you can walk to some of the most important points of the city such as the Metropolitan Cathedral, the Casa Colorada, the Central Post Office, the National Library, the Municipal Theater and the Palacio de la Moneda, headquarters of the President of the Republic.
Also, you cannot miss the journey through the history of the country offered in the National Historical Museum, the art pieces shown in the National Museum of Fine Arts and the greatness of the skeleton of the whale Greta, exposed in the National Museum of Chilean History.
Finally, you have to visit the Central Market, famous for being a National Historic Monument thanks to its architectural beauty and for being the main place to taste Chilean cuisine.
The hills and parks
Your visit to Santiago is not complete until you enjoy the beautiful views from the hills of the city.
The Cerro de Santa Lucía is the perfect place to enjoy a day full of nature and fresh air. It has large parks and gardens and, in addition, in the hill you will find several viewpoints where you can admire the imposing views of the city.
The Cerro de San Cristóbal is the highest of the city and from here the visitors can see the Andes. In this hill is also the statue of the Inmaculada Concepción and its sanctuary.
The neighborhood of Lastarria
The neighborhood of Lastarria offers countless leisure and gastronomy options.
It is an avant-garde area where you will find art galleries, concert halls and boutiques of independent designers.
You have to take a walk around Mulato Gil de Castro square, Gabriela Mistral Cultural Center and Bruna Palace.
